My Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 Rebuild Diary 2007.

09-December-2007. Just a few hours in the workshop this morning asi i have visitors coming later. Up early as I was keen to put the wing back together after the good progress I made yesterday taking it apart.


Here is todays progress:

Pulled the spar out this morning to drill the vertical hole I forgot about yesterday.
Spar back in and I refitted the inner ribs - apart from the first as I need to do a little repair work on it..
The ribs slid on very easily. I varnished where the ribs and other parts are fitted..
I will probably remove this wooden centre rib and make a few repairs out of the wing rather than in place in the wing.
Aileron brackets cleaned and refitted.
Eleven am this morning and the new spar is in place and most ribs refitted. I have fitted the rib bolts but not screwed them up yet. Will fix the woodend brace/rib and check alignment before I tighten anything up.
